At the April 10 Siesta Key Association(SKA) meeting, Natalie Gutwein encouraged the audience to send her recommendations for Siesta Key improvements. A newly-formed organization, the Siesta Key Beautification Alliance, has been created to work with the County to identify projects to improve Siesta Key. The overall goal is to create a more lively colorful tropical vibe for the Key. Click here to read Natalie’s letter to the Sarasota Board of county Commissioners.

Preliminary recommendations include more visible crosswalks with lights and bright murals, new signage with tropical colors and themes, landscaping with tropical plants on the north and south bridge medians. SKA also provided a list of possible projects including leveled sidewalks, public restrooms, and replacing deep stormwater swales with pipes.
