Public workshop on Wells Fargo Hotel Site

A Neighborhood Workshop (via Zoom) is scheduled at 6 pm on June 9th for the proposed hotel on 5810 Midnight Pass Rd on Siesta Key (on site of former Wells Fargo bank).  If you wish to attend via Zoom, you must register in advance (SEE LINKS BELOW).  If any issues arise with links or registration, go to the Sarasota County (scgov.net) under Planning & Development Services (PDS Calendar) for more information.

   Many of our SK Coalition leadership and Community Support Association members will be joining to ask questions and comment on the plan.  This hotel is proposed for approximately 100 rooms on 2.14 acres and approximately 5 stories (2 levels of structure parking and common areas plus three levels of hotel rooms).  The developer intends to have a restaurant and rooftop bar along with public and hotel parking. The link below has Application details on the development, but developer is requesting an amendment to the Unified Development Code and Future Land Use Policies to double the allowed density from 26 units to the acre to 52 rooms per acre.  They are also requesting changes to increase height in order to accommodate their 5-story plan.
