Sidewalk Astronomy at Sarasota’s Riverview High!

This will be your last chance to see Saturn’s rings until Sept 2020!  The Local Group of Deep Sky Observers’ very popular series of Sidewalk Astronomy!  WEATHER PERMITTING: on Sat, Nov 2, 2019, starting at 6:45 p.m., and continuing until at least 10:00 p.m., the group members will set up high-quality telescopes for public viewing at Sarasota’s Riverview High School.

Located at 1 Ram Way in Sarasota (just off Proctor Road, about three-quarters of a mile east of US 41), the telescopes will be set up on the sidewalk surrounding the school’s Science Center/Planetarium.

The main observing highlight of the evening will be your final opportunity to view Saturn’s beautiful rings at a Sidewalk Astronomy event until Sept. 2020. In addition, the planets Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune will be viewable that evening, and close-up details of the waxing crescent Moon as well as a number of other deep-sky objects will be featured in our amazing telescopes.
