Developer of hotel at former Wells Fargo location proposes higher density for Siesta hotels

September 29, 2023 —

Dave Balot, developer of a hotel at former the Wells Fargo location, will seek a Comprehensive Plan amendment to allow increased transient units per acre for hotels on Siesta Key. His previous proposed UDC amendment specified 52 units per acre. If passed, this will allow his proposed hotel plan to move forward without a special exception for density.

His pending appeal (see below) to allow his pre-construction process to move forward while litigation on other proposed Siesta hotels is still unresolved, will be withdrawn.
