The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred near Avenida Messina and Avenida Navarra on Siesta Key.

Deputies responded just after 4:00 p.m. Monday for a report of a fight that began near Beach Access 3 involving possibly 10 or more juveniles. Several gunshots were heard, and one female victim was located and transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Additional possible gunshots were heard a short time later near Avenida Messina and Ocean Boulevard, however no victims were located at the secondary location.
