SKA Contributions to our Community

We all recognize the natural beauty of our Island, and we delight in the historic charm of the Village, the beach, and the lifestyle they evoke. But we often fail to understand that the preservation of these qualities requires endless attention. Our Board of Directors provides persistant attention to preserve
Siesta Key. You will find the Island in its present state thanks in large part to the Siesta Key Association.  Following are just a few of our current and previous activities:

  • Lobby against Increased Density
  • Zoning Changes
  • Hurricane Preparedness “Town Meetings”
  • Canopy Road Protection
  • Mangrove Protection, Enforcement and Education
  • Timed Stickney Point Bridge Openings
  • New Welcome Sign and Landscaping in Medians
  • Dog Stations, Park Benches, Ash Cans along Midnight Pass Road
