|SKA is actively working to follow the progress of the
Benderson Development proposal to build a mixed-use development at the
corner of Stickney Point Road and US-41. Our goal is to
ensure that the final development has the least possible impact on Siesta Key
and its residents. At the moment all proposals are preliminary,
but SKA will keep our members informed as the process progresses to
stages that are ready for public discussion.
On July 25, 2017, County
Planners deemed the revised application submitted June 28, 2017
Incomplete and Insufficient and sent two documents to Benderson
Development listing issues to be addressed. After the developer
has made the required revisions and additions, County Staff will
again review the documents for completeness within 30 days of
resubmission. See the revised timeline below based on an assumed
resubmission by Benderson 30 days after receipt of the notices of
Insuffiency and Incompleteness. All dates are approximate and
subject to change.

posted on the Sarasota County website because they are not open for
public comment until the developer has had an opportunity to address
the issues identified. SKA has been given permission to share
them with our members so you may have the latest information.

following are broad estimates of key dates. Items marked with ** are done.

County will announce all Public Hearings, and SKA will keep members
informed of announcements as they occur.
